Our Story
Founded in 2016 by Devon Specht, Ebb & Flow was born from the kitchen table in her Toronto apartment. A lifelong lover of design, she left a corporate job in Canadian fashion to chase her dream of building a home goods company that celebrates traditional craftsmanship, respects the planet and creates beautiful, handmade products that are designed to be cherished for a lifetime.
At Ebb & Flow, we believe that our homes should be a reflection of the lives that we live, and the journeys that we take. That's why we're passionate about creating unique, well-made and well-loved treasures that spark joy and help you tell your unique story—pieces that resonate with your soul.
We love exploring the wonders of global cultures and blending our modern style with ancient craft and time-honoured techniques. We work exclusively with small suppliers who share our commitment to sustainable practices and responsible sourcing.
Ebb & Flow is currently carried in stores across Canada and in the USA.
Meet Our Founder
I was so fortunate to grow up surrounded by a long line of tenacious, entrepreneurial women in my family and from an early age, I just knew that it was my destiny as well. Each of these creative and courageous women inspired me to follow in their footsteps…but it was my Grandmother, Maureen, who was the most influential of all.
A Second World War bride from Yorkshire, England, Maureen moved to Canada to marry my grandfather in 1947. Eventually, they settled in Muskoka and went on to open a ladies clothing boutique. Picture a shop filled with hats in boxes, satin gloves behind glass cases, cashmere sweaters and wool coats. Everything she surrounded herself with at home and in her store was of the finest quality—her taste for fashion and decor was timeless.
A passionate world traveller, Maureen never returned home without an exquisite piece of art or decor made by a master artisan. I grew up adoring all of my grandmother's collected treasures from around the globe, and many of these pieces have become cherished possessions that still grace my home today.
When I started Ebb & Flow in 2016 I knew that I wanted to honour the influence of Maureen by creating products that are so well-made and styled so timelessly, that they too could be passed down and loved for generations. Devon xx
